Boerne Vision Center now offer Telehealth appointments to all existing patients. These appointments are catered to high-risk patients who prefer to be examined through the convenience of their own digital devices. Due to the limitations of virtual appointments we are only opening this service to patients who have been here in the last three years. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND NEW PATIENTS to be seen in person by the doctor. Patients experiencing flashes of lights and floaters or new onset curtain in their vision should be seen in office immediately. Our office strictly follows the CDC guidelines to prevent to spread of COVID-19.
Some examples of candidates for Telehealth:
- Styes
- Red eyes
- Itchy eyes
- Eye irritation/pain
- Patients who have lung issues and choose not to visit us in person
- Patients who have eye issues but is currently coughing/sneezing
- Currently COVID-19 positive patients
- Patients in quarantine after exposure to COVID-19
We use a HIPAA compliant platform for the telehealth appointment. No information is stored on the platform. We bill your medical insurance for the Telehealth visit. To ensure accuracy and complete a comprehensive eye exam, we do not renew glasses and contact lens prescriptions through telehealth. Vision insurance does not cover online exams. You may review our telemedicine policies here.
