Dr. Eric J. Gonzalez is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Originally from Weslaco, Texas, he earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he also competed as a student-athlete on the Texas Longhorns football team. He went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry.
Dr. Gonzalez’s clinical training includes rotations at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas, and Kozlovsky, Delay and Winter Eye Consultants in San Antonio, Texas, alongside two years of private practice experience. Through this background, he has gained extensive proficiency in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of various ocular diseases as well as post-operative surgical care.
Dedicated to delivering the highest quality of personalized care, Dr. Gonzalez stays up to date on the latest advancements in optometry to ensure every patient receives exceptional service and thorough clinical care. Dr. Gonzalez’s experience and training allow him to provide a wide range of optometric services, including comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, cataract evaluations, co-management of refractive surgery, and management of conditions such as corneal and anterior segment diseases, dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Gonzalez enjoys watching sports, playing golf, and spending quality time with his family. He is excited to bring his expertise to the practice and looks forward to caring for patients across our two locations.
